Map of the “Observation Posts” of Iran and Russia Around the Province of Idlib.
Islamic World News Analysis Group: Russian Ministry of Defence during its recent briefing on situation in Syria, published the Russia and Iran”Observation Posts” map around the province of Idlib for the first time.
According to an agreement between Russia, Iran and Turkey in the Astana talks, known as “de-escalation zone” agreement; Turkey has set up 12 observation post throughout the entire Syrian army and militants contact lines in the provinces of Aleppo, Idlib, Hamah and Latakia.
Turkey officially entered western Syria from October 13, 2017 and built its last “Observation Post” in May 16, 2018 in the south of Jisr al-Shoghour.
It seems that the construction of Turkish observation posts in the region have ended; Hence, following the implementation of the “de-escalation zone” agreement, the Russian Ministry of Defence on May 23, published the Russia and Iran”Observation Posts” map around the mentioned areas for the first time.
According to the published map the Russian side organized 10 posts, Turkey 12, and Iran 7.
They control ceasefire regime compliance by government troops and armed opposition.
The posts are linked by stable communication. Servicemen are constantly exchanging information on situation and ceasefire violations; if necessary, measures are taken to prevent them and address conflicts.
