Three Turkish soldiers killed in northern Iraq
ISWNews Analysis Group: The Turkish Ministry of Defense announced that three Turkish military personnel were killed by PKK militants in northern Iraq on December 9.
On December 9th, three Turkish troops named Ali Sari, Idris Aksoz, Doganay Celik were killed in a clash with PKK militants in the area of Operations Claw-Lightning and Thunderbolt in northern Iraq.
Following the clash, the Turkish Air Force identified and attacked targets belonging to PKK elements on the outskirts of the conflict area, during which six PKK forces were killed.
The Turkish military operation in northern Iraq, known as the Pence-Simsek (Thunder Claw) and Pence-Yildirim (Lightning Claw) operations began on April 2021 and continues to this day.
