The Iraqi Armed Forces resumed their offensive to liberate the Syrian border, today, liberating new areas inside the Al-Anbar Governorate.

Led by army and Hashd Al-Sha’abi’s 46th Brigade (Popular Mobilization Units), the Iraqi Armed Forces managed to liberate several villages, including Al-‘Ubeidi, near the Islamic State (ISIS) stronghold of Al-Qa’im.

In addition to liberating these villages, the Iraqi Armed Forces also reached the Hasbayah area of southern Al-Qa’im.

With their positions flanked from three different sides, the Islamic State will not likely hold onto Al-Qa’im for much longer.
