Turkish Defense Minister visits operational areas in Sirnak
ISWNews Analysis Group: Hulusi Akar attended one of the bases in the Sirnak region in southeastern Turkey to be briefed about the latest details of operation Pence-Simsek and Pence-Yildirim in northern Iraqi Kurdistan.
Akar reached the area of Operation Pence-Simsek for inspections, the National Defense Ministry said in a statement. He was accompanied by Chief of General Staff Gen. Yasar Guler and Land Forces Commander Gen. Umit Dundar.
“So far, 44 PKK militants have been killed by us during Operation Pence-Simsek in northern Iraqi Kurdistan, and this operation will continue successfully. Our battle will continue until the destruction of the last terrorist. We have the ability and we will do it,” Hulusi Akar said.
Also, the Turkish Ministry of Defense announced that one of the army forces was killed in a clashes with PKK militants in northern Iraq.
