Afghanistan: Latest Updates on Helmand Front, 18 May 2021

After Taliban’s three days ceasefire due to Eid Al Fitr, they resumed the attacks in province Helmand. In the most important attack, Lashgar Gah is attacked from south which were repelled by the army.
Army launched an operation against Taliban in outskirt of Lashgar Gah, and Nahre Seraj and Nawah, whose results are not clear yet. Defense ministry releasing images claims to attack Taliban watch post and killed nine in Nahre Seraj by air raid.

According to local officials of Helmand, districts Sangin, Musa Qala, Kajaki, Baghran and Garmsir are controlled by Taliban entirely and only the centers are in control of the government and most of the areas are occupied by Taliban.
