Latest Military Developments Of Gaza And Northern Palestine, 16 October 2023 (Map)

On the 10th day of the fighting, there was no special and significant ground conflict around the Gaza Strip. The activity of the Israeli army’s ground forces around the Gaza Strip are currently still defensive.

Most of today’s incidents in Gaza and its surroundings are related to the bombing of different areas of the Gaza Strip by the Israeli regime, as well as the rocket attacks on the settlements in the occupied territories by the Palestinian resistance groups.

On this day, Palestinian resistance fighters targeted the occupied areas around the Gaza Strip as well as distant areas such as Tel Aviv and Haifa with hundreds of rockets. According to the latest statistics provided by the Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip, the number of martyrs in Gaza has reached 2,778 and the number of injured has reached more than 10,000.

The Israeli army also published the names of eight other soldiers of this regime who were killed in recent battles. Thus, according to the information published by the Israeli army, the number of “military” deaths of this regime since the beginning of the war in Gaza has reached 299 people.

In the northern front, tensions and artillery clashes and air attacks continue in all border lines of Lebanon. On the 10th day of fighting, the Israeli army targeted Hezbollah positions in the north of the Lebanese border on several occasions. Hezbollah forces also targeted the positions of Israeli forces in the north of occupied Palestine on several occasions. Also, a Merkava tank of the Israeli regime was hit by an anti-tank missile in Al-al-Dahira area.

In the political sphere, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken visited Israel for the second time in the last few days and met with Netanyahu and officials of this regime. It should be noted that Antony Blinken traveled to Jordan, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia a few days ago, after the first round of meetings with Zionist officials, and consulted with high-ranking officials of the aforementioned countries regarding the latest developments in the region.

Among the other important points of this day, we can mention the Wall Street Journal’s report on the greater role of the US in the Gaza war. The Wall Street Journal stated that US Defense Department officials have prepared 2,000 troops to support any Israeli ground operations in the Gaza Strip.

It seems that the US is preparing the region and coordinating with the heads of some countries to help the Israeli regime to start ground operations and a massive invasion of Gaza.
