Less than a month after the last Syrian Army advances in the southeast of Idlib province, today Syrian Army forces again began ground advances on this axis and succeeded in liberating the areas of Deir al-Sharqi, Deir al-Gharbi, Taqanah and Maar Shamarin in a few hours from the Tahrir al-Sham and its allies. Hence the distance of Syrian Army forces from the strategic city of Maarat al-Numan reduced to less than 3 kilometers.

Also on the western axis of Abu Dhuhur, the villages of Abu Jarif and Tal Khatrah were again captured by the Syrian Army. The village of Tel Kursian in southwest Abu Jarif was also liberated from militants occupation.

As we said earlier, the Syrian Army’s operation in Idlib and western Aleppo province has begun for about eight days and as usual, the Syrian Army heavily pounded the militant positions several days before the ground advances, and with the weakening of the militant lines, ground advances began.

Given the current situation, there is a possibility of further advances or opening a new front in west of Aleppo.
