Latest Updates on Afghanistan, 15 May 2020

1. The peace negotiations:
Taliban released 15 government captives in Jozjan province.

2. Ghazni:
– The third police commander of Rashidan city, died in a mine explosion.
– During the clashes between security forces and Taliban in the Shakhoog region, 15 Taliban members were killed and 7 others wounded.
– During the clashes between security forces and Taliban in the Qarabagh district, 13 Taliban members were killed and one popular forces was martyred and another wounded.

3. Paktia:
During the explosion of a VBIED in the army center in Gardiz city, 5 persons were killed and 20 other wounded. Taliban claimed the responsibility. (image)

4. Qanduz:
During Taliban attack on security forces checkpoint in the Khaan Abad district, 3 were killed and 5 wounded and 2 others were missed.

5. Qandahar:
– During the clashes between security forces and Taliban in Qandahar, 6 Taliban members were killed and 6 others were wounded.
– According to the ministry of defense, 25 Taliban members have been killed during recent airstrikes in Qandahar and Urozgan.
