ISWNews Analysis Group: According to sources, administration of Lattakia harbor at Mediterranean coast will be leased to Iran soon.

The topic was brought up last year and the sensitivity of the news prevented it from being released before it is confirmed.
According to reports, a committee is formed in Syrian Government to investigate it and the positive decision was conveyed to Iran, in recent meeting of Bashar Assad of Iran.

It is noteworthy that in 2018, Iran and Syria signed many contracts in industry, military and energy, among them is the contract to build a 540 MW combined cycle powerplant in Lattakia in 34 months started from February 2019 and a 75 km long gas pipeline from Banias to Lattakia to be constructed by Mapna.

The current contract regarding managing Lattakia harbor ends on 1st October and after that Iran is assigned to it.

Controlling Lattakia harbor is a huge victory for Iran from economical, political and military points of views and for the first time in several centuries, Iran once again has access to Mediterranean coast.
