Syria: Latest updates on Daraa front, 24 September 2021
ISWNews Analysis Group: In line with the agreement reached between the Syrian army and the militants in Daraa province, several other towns announced their readiness to join the national reconciliation.
After consultations and meetings of the Syrian army with the Central Committee of Daraa and the tribal elders of the province, several areas, including Dael, Zayzun and Ibta, joined the national reconciliation and the militants living in the areas handed over their weapons to the Syrian army. It was also decided to inspect the suspicious areas in these cities and villages and to determine the duties of the fugitives and militants as soon as possible.
Following the agreement between the militants living in the city of Tafas and the Syrian army, on the morning of September 22, Syrian government officials, along with the Syrian army and Russian Military Police, visited the city of Tafas in Daraa province and closely monitored the reconciliation process.
It is worth mentioning that after the reduction of tensions and clashes in Daraa province, which took place as a result of negotiations between the Syrian army and the militants mediated by the Russians, the areas of Daraa al-Balad, Yadoudah, Tafas, Tal Shahab, Zayzun, Muzayrib, Ibta and Da’el joined the national reconciliation plan. And the cities of Tasil, Jasem and Inkhil are expected to join the national reconciliation plan in the coming days.
