Qamaruddin Andrabi, a field commander of Ahmad Massoud’s National Resistance Front of Afghanistan, was assassinated by his guard who was a Taliban infiltrator in the Khwaja Valley in the Beno district of Andarab County in Baghlan Province.

After the fall of the Afghan government under the presidency of Ashraf Ghani and the Taliban taking control of Afghanistan, about 14 groups have announced their existence in different regions of the country with the aim of fighting the Taliban.
