On May 5, fighters of al-Qassam Brigades attacked a temporary military post near Karam Abu Salem in the south of the Gaza Strip by firing several rockets.

Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, reportedly have taken control of the Karam Abu Salem border crossing in the southeast of the Gaza Strip and the surrounding areas.
