Since early January, forces loyal to the Jolani-led administration have begun inspecting vehicles, detaining civilians, and confiscating portions of goods entering the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyeh neighborhoods. These measures have led to long lines of vehicles and delays of several hours for residents trying to enter or exit the area.

On October 17, unidentified armed individuals assassinated Hisham Khazami in the Al-Furqan neighborhood of Aleppo. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.

After two nights of armed confrontations between Syrian government forces and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in Aleppo’s Kurdish neighborhoods of Ashrafiyeh and Sheikh Maqsoud, hostilities have now ceased. The pause follows an SDF request to initiate negotiations and propose a ceasefire.

Tensions flared again last night between the Syrian Army and Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in eastern Aleppo. The SDF accused Damascus of launching drone and artillery strikes on Deir Hafer, injuring seven personnel—three in a drone attack and four from a strike on an internal security patrol.

Amid months of armed clashes in Aleppo’s Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiya neighborhoods, an agreement was signed to stabilize these areas. The neighborhoods will now be administered as part of Aleppo under the protection of Syrian Internal Security Forces.

In the last 24 hours, the Israeli army’s fighter jets have continued to attack military bases and facilities in Syria. Their targets included areas like Tel al-Shahm, located west of Damascus, weapons factories in the town of Aleppo, and Khalkhaleh Airport in Sweida province.

The few remaining SDF forces in Aleppo are evacuating to SDF-controlled areas in Manbij and Raqqa. Some Kurdish residents of Sheikh Maqsoud have chosen to remain in Aleppo rather than leave their homes. Tahrir al-Sham and other Turkish-backed militants have taken control of most of the central and southern areas of Aleppo city, extending up to the city’s airport.

After only three days of militant operations in the western outskirts of Aleppo city, Tahrir al-Sham terrorists and other groups have managed to infiltrate Aleppo city.

The Turkish-backed SNA (TFSA) militants have initiated new clashes with Syrian army forces on the Tadef axis in eastern Aleppo, hours ago. As of now, no significant progress has been made, and the exchange of fire continues.

Field evidence suggests that Turkish-backed militants, with Turkey’s approval, are gearing up for another significant operation in northern Aleppo province.

On the second day of their major operation, known as “Operation Deterrence of Aggression”, Tahrir al-Sham and other terrorist groups succeeded in advancing on several axes in western Aleppo, reaching the Al-Zarba area and cutting off the Aleppo-Damascus (M5) highway.
