ISWNews Analysis Group: An explosion at the Taliban governor’s house in Takhar has killed and wounded several Taliban members.

On the morning of January 31, an explosion at the house of Taliban Governor Molavi Nooruddin in Takhar province in the city of Taleqan. Taliban sources said there were no casualties in the blast. But local sources confirmed in their reports that several Takhar governor’s bodyguards had been killed.

The blast was caused by a magnetic bomb that was attached to the vehicle of Takhar governor. Given the sabotage and the nature of the attack, it is likely that it was carried out by IS-KP operatives.

On the other hand, on January 30, one Taliban gunman was killed and another wounded by ISIS attack on the village of Posht in the Sarekano district of Kunar province. Local sources in Kunar province also reported a landmine explosion in Manogi district, injuring four people, including three children.

In Panjshir and Baghlan provinces, Taliban clashes with Ahmad Massoud forces continue in the mountains. In the latest local news from these areas, it is reported that the Taliban governor in Bagrami district of Parwan province and two of his bodyguards were killed by Ahmad Massoud forces.

Unrest in northern and eastern Afghanistan continues as the Taliban have repeatedly denied the existence and attacks of the ISIS terrorist group and Ahmad Massoud forces in Afghanistan, calling it a war on cyberspace. But daily casualties and reports from local sources confirm the Taliban dark days in the area.
