Just two days after Turkey deployed MIM-23 Hawk air defense systems and the Koral system at the Al-Watiya air base in northwestern Libya, the systems were destroyed by the Libyan National Army (LNA) airstrikes.
Al-Watiyah airbase plays an important role in the air support of the Libyan National Army (LNA), led by General Haftar in northwestern Libya, especially in the battles of Tripoli; and obviously, with the capture of this base by the Government of National Accord (GNA), the balance of power in northwestern Libya will change significantly in favor of the GNA.
