ISWNews Analysis Group: From the beginning of the last phase of the Syrian army operation in Idlib province since 19 December 2019 so far, 1160 km2 occupied lands of Idlib were liberated in 47 days.
Following the Syrian Army operation against Tahrir al-Sham terrorists, more than 12 new villages in the area of more than 110 square kilometers in east of Idlib were liberated from the occupation of terrorists.

Syrian army liberated villages Tornaba and Nayrab at west of Saraqeb town from terrorists occupation. With recent advances, M4 highway (Aleppo-Lattakia) is cut by the army and the forces are just 7 km away from capital of terrorists, Idlib city.
On February 2, Syrian Army forces succeeded in liberating areas such as Dadikh, Kafr Batikh, Zakar, Jobas, San in the province of Idlib, and now they are 3 kilometers away from the town of Saraqeb.

Following Syrian Army blitzkrieg advances in Idlib province, first Hamediyah base in south of Maarat al-Numan and then Kafr Roma town in west of Maarat al-Numan were liberated. Liberation of Kafr Roma town put the Maarat al-Numan into full siege and then Syrian Army entered the town and liberated it from Tahrir al Sham terrorists and its allies.
Less than a month after the last Syrian Army advances in the southeast of Idlib province, today Syrian Army forces again began ground advances on this axis and succeeded in liberating the areas of Deir al-Sharqi, Deir al-Gharbi, Taqanah and Maar Shamarin in a few hours from the Tahrir al-Sham and its allies. Hence the distance of Syrian Army forces from the strategic city of Maarat al-Numan reduced to less than 3 kilometers.
